1960 Chevrolet Apache Panel Van
Cars and trucks may get all the press but there is a special subset of classics that has a special place in every hot rodders heart, the classic Panel Van. These vehicles were the ultimate delivery machine. They offered the storage space of a truck bed with a bit more added protection. This 1960 Chevrolet Apache Panel Van is a unique classic that is in great condition. Only a small percentage of 1960 Panels were released from the factory with a V8 and this is one of them. It was actually owned by GM for the first 35 years of its life where it spent its time in a GM test facility located in Tucson, AZ. This classic has a lot of body and all of the original steel panels are in good condition. It is painted Yellow and White which are the original colors and paint scheme. The original style bumpers are in place and are painted white to match the body. The original grill is in good condition and has been kept chrome. Large chrome mirrors are in place on each side to help increase your visibility down the side of the truck. All of the glass is in good condition and has a nice dark tint that nicely accents the bright paint. The truck sits on M/3 wheels which have a great shine and are wrapped in T/A radial tires. A custom tow package is also in place on this classic and it has no problem pulling a trailer. Just think how cool it would be to pull up to a show with your street rod being towed behind a vintage truck like this! Plus throw your business logo on the side and you have yourself a rolling billboard! Powering the car is a 283CI motor that starts up well and has no issues. It only has 900 miles on it since completion which is just enough to break in the motor and work out any kinks. It has a fresh look with the block and heads painted a nice dark Red.
The interior of the truck is complete in a two tone light and dark grey that has a very clean appearance. The bucket seats are very comfortable and sit to each side of an added center console. The dash has been upgraded with billet trim to nicely frame the Autometer gauges. A Sun pro tach is also in place mounted to the top of the dash. The Vintage Air A/C system blows cold and utilizes vents mounted below the dash. A GT Grant Mahogany steering wheel sits in front of the driver and is polished out to a beautiful shine. An aftermarket XDMR6855 AM/FM/CD player was installed and along with the Jenson 3300 speakers, Pioneer 12" base speakers (in Pro-Box) and Autotech 2000W amp delivers a great sound.
A great Panel Van to plaster your company's name on the side and you truly have a rolling billboard
that will pay for itself in advertising value!
