2005 Mustang -
The Boss
The rebirth of the
modern classics has now made its way through Camaros and
Challengers, but it all started with Ford and their Mustang.
Many would argue that Ford did a great job grabbing various features
from the classic 60's and 70's while many would say they didn't do
enough. If your in the latter group then we have the car for
you. Not only does this awesome 2005 Mustang GT have the
vintage look from factory, but thousands upon thousands have been
spent putting together different components to truly make it a
tribute car. And if you're going to have a tribute why not make
it to the iconic BOSS Mustang from the 69-early 70's. These
awesome cars were extremely popular and continue to be popular
today. The car has had countless
body modifications getting it closer and closer to the Boss look
until it was finally reached. All of the exterior mods utilize
Cervini components except for the Agent 47 retro mirrors.
Every piece has been custom painted to match the bright Red
exterior. All of these parts are still on line and currently
for sale totaling over $8,000 dollars not including the cost of
professional installation and the painting (done by Heritage
Customs.) These parts are the pedestal wing spoiler, quarter
window vented covers, back window louvers, custom 70's style
eyelets, fiberglass longnose hood, the 429 hood scoop, side scoops,
chin spoiler, deck lid spoiler, and more. All of these parts
don't come as a package and were each individually selected because
of the similarities to the vintage Boss cars. For instance the
longer hood and added eyelets create that longnose inset look you
see on the headlights. The hood even has the old style chrome
hood pins which are primarily for the look and are non functional.
Every one of these pieces is of very high quality as well. Even
the louvers are all metal and not the plastic you see on a lot of
newer Mustangs. The correct style blacked out Boss graphics
are in place and look great. The entire front section of the
car all the way through to the rocker panels and onto the rear is a
protective color matching 3M film to keep the paint always free of rock
chips. The glass is all tinted and crack/chip free. This
modern day muscle car has an awesome stance and rides on brand new
18" Rocket Racing wheels (8 1/2" front, 10" rear) that are
blacked out and look great. These wheels are dressed with fresh Nitto 555
Extreme tires. The wheels & tires cost over $2,000.00 and have only 300 miles on
them.
Through the new custom
Rocket Racing
wheels you will see the custom painted calipers and the
drilled/slotted Baer brand rotors. From front to rear this car
is in awesome condition where nothing was left out. Under the
hood is an entirely detailed out V8 motor that runs extremely well.
It is topped with custom painted and billet parts throughout.
Some of these parts include the painted strut tower covers, all
Scott Drake billet caps (includes dipstick), Moroso billet radiator
reservoir, painted radiator and extension covers, Moroso billet fuse cap
cover, powder coated valve covers, the chrome hood prop, and more.
A custom Red plenum cover also comes with the car to finish it off
perfectly when you have the car in a show. A JLT cold air
intake system has been added and the car comes with the ScatII
programmer. When this car starts up you are greeted with a
smooth idle and a nice rumble. This sound is due to the
Flowmaster 40 mufflers into the chrome Magnaflow exhaust tips.
This tips look awesome routed through the back and through the rear
valence that has too has been custom blacked out for that vintage
appearance. The following is an excerpt from an article
outlining some new features added to the 2005 Mustang. Keep in
mind that this is written about a stock car and not the awesome
machine you see here. To read the rest of the article click

Heaven for the great article!
Ford Mustang Set
to Capture American Hearts – Again
Since its dramatic 1964 introduction, Ford Mustang
has been the icon of American performance and style,
capturing hearts worldwide. For 2005, Mustang
combines an all-new, fully modern architecture with
all the soul that makes a Mustang a Mustang – bold
style, a brawny engine and rear-wheel-drive
excitement.
In short, every inch
of Mustang is new – yet it staunchly remains the genuine
article – "America’s Car" for 40 years.
Based on an all-new, fully modern body structure and
chassis system featuring advanced MacPherson struts
and a three-link live axle with Panhard rod, Mustang
boasts an overall ride sophistication unmatched by
any of its ancestors. Its braking and handling are
nothing short of world class.
It produces all the tire-smoking power the rear
wheels – and most drivers – can handle, with a
better-breathing 300-horsepower, 24-valve MOD V-8 or
200-horsepower SOHC V-6 engine.
With power comes responsibility, and the new Mustang
takes occupant protection to a new level. A stout
safety cage, Ford’s Personal Safety System™ with
passenger weight-sensing technology, available side
air bags and a front structure designed for
demanding offset impacts, provide drivers and
passengers with the most comprehensive protection
ever offered in a
muscle car.
What’s more, all this unrivaled driving excitement
will continue to come at an attainable price.
Mustang will remain the best performance car for
under $20,000, and the most affordable
300-horsepower car made today.
Embodiment of
American Muscle
Like wild horses on the open
plain, Mustangs always have exuded a sense of pure
power. The 2005 Ford Mustang offers a clean,
contemporary design rooted in this unmistakable
heritage. It is direct, straightforward, honest and –
above all – authentically American.
The Mustang takes its design
language from the concept car that stole hearts along
the auto show circuit and signaled that America’s only
remaining muscle car would be introduced for 2005 with
even more attitude.
"We weren’t just redesigning a car, we were adding
another chapter to an epic," said J Mays, Ford Motor
Company group vice president, Design.
An all-new platform and
clean-sheet design approach gave birth to a car that is
modern, legendary and unmistakably Mustang.
The signature long hood and
short rear deck capitalize on 40 years of history, as do
classic design cues that have helped define Mustangs
since the 1960s: C-scoops in the sides, three-element
taillamps and a galloping horse badge in the center of
the grille. The Mustang’s menacing shark-like nose
imparts an attitude not seen since the 1967 model, while
jeweled, round headlamps in trapezoidal housings are
part of a striking new design flair.
"The new Mustang is pure
American muscle," Mays said. "But, rest assured, we’re
not insisting on history at the expense of our future."
The 2005 Mustang has an
aggressive rake that puts the car in motion even when
it’s standing still. The wheels were pushed to the
corners of the body, better anchoring Mustang visually
and physically to the road. The six-inch wheelbase gain
over the 2004 model and increased interior compartment
width provide more room for driver and passengers. |
If you thought
customizations stopped at the engine and exterior guess again.
The interior is just as customized out with all billet knobs and
switches. For instance the headlight switch is now shining
instead of just the regular black. The console has entirely
been redone with chrome inserts like the drink cup holder, chrome
brake handle, and shifter bezel. A Mustang dash pad looks
great in place along with the all Red floor mats. The front
and rear seats are nicely done in Red leather with added BOSS
lettering on the seats. The trunk is just as nice and the
bottom of the decklid has been custom fitted with mirrored BOSS
lettering that always gets a response at shows.
